Back in September 1973, my father bought a Hellas Metallic BIG Beetle. As I was only born in 1976, it was the first car that I known my parents to have. In 1984, the date came for my father to part with his beetle as it had done 120000km and was suffering from a slipping clutch when it exceeded 80kph. My plan is that the car will be restored during the coming winter period with help from a "specialist". I had a similar Big as a daily driver from 1976-1984 when I sold it, unfortunately it's now scrapped by later owners so this new project will remind me of the 70-ties when I was young.
