Comments :	Currently For Sale on EBAY - Mileage 160002 Pre-loved VW Beetle looking for new owner to carry out a complete restoration project. One owner since registration in 1974. Vehicle needs complete reassembly and has been dismantled over the years to treat rust. Most of the original parts are still available and included in the sale (wheels, seats, headlights, steering wheel). Vehicle has been off road for around 15 years and kept in a garage. Engine and gear box have both been replaced. The mileage is over 100,000. Original engine was replaced and mileage is thought to be around 60,000 for the reconditioned engine.

Comments :	I bought it from a Mrs Flowerday in Wingerworth, Chesterfield who told me it was supplied new by VW agents, Scotts of Sloane Square after having been the display car for VW at the Earl's Court motor show. I had it resprayed during my ownership by VW agents in Chesterfield, Gordon Lamb ltd. Fitted with Kamei front spoiler and rear deck lid shield, engine rebuilt after 100k miles with Engle cam and Reece fish carb etc. Sold it in the mid 1980s when living in High Wycombe and heard it was damaged in a road accident involving a fatality. Picture of it attached in the early 1980s alongside out 1962 beetle. Would love to find and restore it. Date of last V5C (logbook) issued: 14 June 2012

Comments :	Michael Barrett had this car for over 10 years and was last mot'd in August 2011. Where it had done 83,490 miles. To this day it has still the same mileage as it was not driven from mot station. Was transported back to Michael's yard where it has remained. From new to 1989 it had done 76.746 miles as from an old MOT. So from 1989 to 2019, 30 years it's done 6,744 miles. When Michael brought this car it had been garaged not in use for over 15 years. It was a project that has basically stopped. The car is complete as you can see in pictures, and comes with keys for both ignition and glove box. Minimal paperwork other than 2 previous MOT's and a original handbook. The car starts and runs with the key, but the earth wires or starter may need looking at as today it was just clicking. But has been running fine in the last few weeks. The car had 3 small welded plates on floor last month and has been fully undersealed. The metal wheels have been sandblasted and primed too. The car itself looks a bit rough but nearly all is surface marks and flaky paint where someone tried painting the lower doors etc in cream to look two tone. The car is solid throughout apart from a small amount of rust on one of the side steps. And some small dents below the handle of the bonnet. Mileage: 84,490 Currently for sale on EBay

Comments :	ORIGINAL FACTORY 1600cc ENGINE WITH ORIGINAL MILES 79k LAST MAIN SERVICE STAMP IN THE FACTORY VW SERVICE BOOK WAS 22/04/1999 AT 72k AND THE LAST MOT RAN OUT IN 2003 WITH JUST 78,951 This is with great regret I'm having to sell my old bug due to unforeseen circumstances this is a very rare gem indeed I've had it stored for nearly 2 years awaiting a concourse restoration the previous owner Carl owned it for the best part off nearly 22 years off which in storage for 15 years...the bug starts on the button everytime and drives and idles fine newly serviced with fresh oil,petrol pump etc...stainless exhaust too...an excellent strong quick 1600 engine.. This is a complete original factory car with only one re paint...original interior and carpets so some fading and wear to be expected but we all love that!rear seat belts fitted...excellent ragtop/headliner You can see in the pictures the old girl is weathered all over awaiting a fresh makeover or run around as is. The bugs electrically system is unhacked everything works like it left the factory,one key fits all the locks,doors boot and boot lid close perfectly,all the factory sound proof rattling card still in situ under the rear seat/under the bonnet skin and trunk liner is all there... There's rust to deal with but not a lot I've been quoted around £800 and that's properly done not bodged! The hand brake works fine but the front calipers and discs need changing along with all the brake hoses a little amount off cost to get this back to a daily driver. Look at the pictures it's a very straight car and the lines are perfect. Refurbed GT rims with excellent tyres all round including the factory rare VW centre caps and wheel bolt covers! The always missing Factory VW handbook/service book and diagnosis & maintenance punch cards included also along with the Tudor webasto warranty card for when the sunroof was fitted only 10 months from new included too...along with various old receipts and mot's. I have owned “Raph” for the last 6 years and not only is he my constant companion to and from work but we have had some amazing trips and holidays around the UK. He is a very solid example for a 40+ year old car and over the years he has been very well looked after as can be seen from the photos. The floor, heater channels, sills etc are all solid, and has excellent paint work. He came into my possession with a brand new Vege green 1600 engine and over the years nothing has been spared to keep him in top condition and running well. Since being in my possession, I had a new piston & barrel set to the engine fitted (2011), had the Solex carb refurbished (2013), and had a new steering box fitted (2014). Last year the body had a repaint (2015) and new running boards and trim fitted. The brakes were completely overhauled with new master cylinder, callipers, wheel cylinders etc, and most recently fitted a new silencer, new battery, and 4 new tyres. Everything works well as it should and he will run very comfortably at 60-70 mph and is such fun to drive; he’s a real head turner and looks amazing. He is MOT’d till May 2016 and is also TAX EXEMPT

Comments :	Previously For Sale on EBay This late 1973 (left the factory on 13th November 1973 and was shipped to Ramsgate) The 1303S special addition Beetle is finished in eye catching Hellas Metallic gold with a number of period options. The history folder indicates that the Bug went into storage in 1986, did not emerge until 2012 and sailed through her MOT in 2014. During the two year restoration the owner completed a full body and mechanical restoration, mainly around the wheel arches and with the whole floorpan stripped back and restored. Most panels replaced are rare parts sourced including original KTS wheels and KAMEI front spoiler. The car was originally Ontario Blue 95M, but received a respray in Hellas Gold 98C. On the road the car drives extremely well - the 1600cc engine, later brakes and alternator really does make this a Beetle capable of dealing with modern road conditions. The later styling with larger wraparound windows, elephant foot rear lamps, cloth/vinyl seats, and larger speedo work well with the metallic paint and the car draws attention wherever you park The interior is to the original specification - the larger glass area makes for a bright environment and seats, dashboard, roof lining, carpets etc. are all in very good condition. The history folder has the MOT history since restoration, pictures of the car when she was sold from storage, CD with lots of images, VW heritage certificate etc. Known as 'Nugget' and was purchased by Lee on 20th Aug 2020. All the welding has been done , to a high standard by a well known local VW specialist . Comments :	Hi from Australia.wanted to let you know that a VW 1303S Big Beetle has surfaced in Australia.Chassis number1342236710.I bought it a month ago and up until then was a one owner car.Purchased in 1973 in England and came to Australia in the same ship as its owner.The original owner is now 92 and living in a nursing home.Family sold the car. The car is in beautiful condition.The owner loved her car ,had it painted in original moss green and new carpets. It has a factory vinyl roof and webasto sun roof.Have not seen any others like it on your web page. I am putting high back seats in the car and getting front and back reupholsted in bamboo beige. Original 175 70 15 tyres are not available in Australia so have to come from the US. Nobody in Aust has heard of this car which I believe would be the only one. Motoring writer in Melbourne recognized it for what it was. An article will be written on it next year. Nobody believes me when I say this car is wider than the Superbug.Bumper bars wider and seat runners wider.The seats will be the only non original Parts on the car. Will send a photo when car is back on the road. The only thing I had to replace was the running boards. Comments :	This is a rare opportunity to buy a beautiful Beetle which was my means of transport to 6th form school many years ago.............I am selling it on behalf of my father who originally bought it for me when I passed my driving test all those years ago(I am now 43!) It really was my pride and joy and a real head-turner wherever you went! I still remember the day my dad met me from school in it!!! My father has kept hold of the vehicle as he couldn't bear to part with it but unfortunately the time has come to move to a smaller house and therefore it has to go.............The car has been kept outside for many years so unfortunately the bodywork has suffered and it does need some TLC; it also hasn't run for quite a while so will need to be towed away or put onto a vehicle for transportation. I think that the car is fine structurally but as mentioned it needs a refurbishement and some time spent on it to bring it back to its former glory. As can be seen from the photographs someone visiting the house was careless with a ladder and snapped a wing mirror and the small quarter light on the drivers side. Although it has been outside you can see how well the vehicle has been built and that it has stood the test of time. The car is a rare 1303S so it has the more powerful 1600 engine which makes it a lot quicker than the 1300. Although the car had a tail-fin spoiler and front spoiler it doesn't look 'over-modified'; in fact it suits the vehicle and as I said before it was a real head-turner. We also have two of the original wheels and tyres, a new set of mud-flaps still in their wrapping, a new unfitted zoom tube for the exhaust and various handbooks. My father has had many Beetles over his lifetime and this must have been his favourite; he bought it from a doctor in London and caught the train to go and collect it personally. I'm sure that any enthusiast who has some spare time would absolutely LOVE this car and would have many more years of fun from this unique vehicle. Comments :	- Was this vehicle imported to the UK in 1997 or was that when it was first registered. If you know, let me know! It is a Moss green model that is being sold as part of an estate. While the paint needs attention it does appear to have retained all it's original features (rear rubber bumper trim in car) and is in unmolested condition (although I cannot say what it is like underneath). If anyone is interested I understand they are looking for £2000 for the car which is located at Wooleys Service Station (01953 850428) in the village of Hingham just outside Norwich. Comments :	We purchased the car on 28th August 2004 from first owner with only 43,000 miles, full service history, original bill of sale and order confirmation, all old MOT's and the first tax disc. The previous owner had given up driving due to her age and the car needed only a light restoration as it had been wax oiled when new. What was meant to be a 4 month restoration turned into 4 years,due to family commitments. The car had no rust and no welding had ever been necessary, much of the original chrome and body panels were re-used. The high back seats were fitted as a safety measure and new seat covers were fitted along with door cards (still have the original interior which is in superb condition). On its first outing it won Best Club Stand Car at Battlesbridge Car Show which made all the hard work and effort worthwhile.

Comments :	It is with a heavy heart that i am having to sell my 1303s. It have MOT till July and tax till june, it is the big beetle edition, it is in original condition with some surface rust to the body but the underside looks to be in very good condition partly because of the low mileage but also because it has been undersealed most of its life. 3 previous owners, all from the same family. Bought new, sold to neice in 1979 who owned till 2006, bought by daughter in 2006 with intentions to restore for her son to learn to drive. I bought it in Oct 2008 with intentions to restore this summer. Having just found out the wife is pregnant, priorities change and i need a sensible car. I have put 4,000 miles on it, starts first time, every time in the rain or snow. Have had no mechanical problems, body work seems very stiff and should last quite a long time untouched but is prime for a restore. The heaters work and warm the car up really well. Volkszone Thread
